Deen Discovery is an Islamic organisation set up with the vision to create an engaging, beneficial, and FUN Islamic environment for children to learn about the Deen in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah.
At Deen Discovery, we believe every child deserves to grow up confident in who they are and connected to their Deen.
In today’s world, that’s not always easy. Many children struggle to stay engaged with islamic learning or feel confident on their identity.
That’s why we created Deen Discovery, to make learning about Islam something children genuinely enjoy and look forward to.
وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَانٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَا أَلَتْنَاهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَيْءٍ
And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything. 52:21
A message from our founder:
My journey with Deen Discovery began through my work as a Qur’an and Islamic Studies teacher in a madrasah, alongside my role in an Arabic school. While I found this work incredibly fulfilling, I began to feel that something important was missing for our children. Traditional teaching methods are valuable, but I noticed that many children were struggling to stay engaged and truly connect with what they were learning.
During my university studies, where I completed a degree in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), I gained experience working across a range of primary schools. It was here that I saw first-hand how modern teaching approaches could motivate, inspire, and truly engage children.
That’s when the idea came to me:
What if we could bring these methods into teaching the deen?
With this vision, Deen Discovery was established in 2021 as a space where children could learn about Islam in a way that feels engaging, interactive, and meaningful. Through hands-on activities, discussions, games, and creativity, we aim to create an environment where children don’t just learn, but build a genuine connection with their deen.
The response from parents was overwhelming, and their encouragement became the driving force behind our growth. What started as a small initiative has now grown into a thriving programme across multiple locations. I have since been blessed with an incredible team who share this vision, and together we continue to create spaces where children feel safe, supported, and proud of their identity.
Through my experience working across Islamic schools, state schools, and faith schools, I’ve seen how important it is to nurture not only a child’s learning, but also their confidence, identity, and sense of belonging.
There are moments throughout the year where children can feel unsure or even left out, especially when navigating differences in beliefs within wider society. I remember speaking to a group of children during one of our sessions, where we were learning about the story of Maryam (AS) and Prophet Isa (AS), and discussing why we don’t celebrate Christmas. When I asked if they ever felt left out during this time, many of them said yes. Moments like this are exactly why Deen Discovery exists. Our aim is to give children the understanding, confidence, and sense of identity they need to navigate the world around them, while building a genuine love for their deen.
Deen Discovery exists today because of the trust and support of parents and the wider community, and we remain committed to serving them with excellence.
